Email Cold PlatesA line of heat pipe integrated slim cold plates was designed by Enertron engineers to reliably and effectively cool thin profile electronics, originally for Pentium notebook PCs. The heat pipe slim cold plates are lightweight, silent cooling solutions. They are designed to work in natural convection and radiation environments. The heat pipe slim cold plate is an ideal solution for low power, slim electronics.Enertron Products
The typical heat pipe slim cold plate configuration consists of an aluminum spreader plate and a heat pipe. The heat pipe was integrated into the assembly to increase the heat spreading across the plate. The heat pipe adds a highly efficient thermal path from the heat source to the far end of the plate resulting in a more uniform temperature across the plate. Heat pipe slim cold plates can also be designed to form the outer case of the electronics housing. Internally embedded heat pipes can be routed to spread the heat evenly across the case.
Because it is lightweight and requires no moving parts, the heat pipe slim cold plate is a highly reliable, passive thermal solution with a virtually unlimited operational life. The overall thickness of the heat pipe slim cold plate is typically less than 3 mm, and usually is made of sheet aluminum of 1mm thick. The average weight of the heat pipe slim cold plate is under 100 grams. The heat pipe slim cold plate fits very well into mobile electronics, spreading heat within the limited, thin space available in today's designs.
Applications for the heat pipe slim cold plate typically have low wattage and space restrictions. Best Applications for Heat Pipe Slim Cold Plate:
