Cold Forged Heatsinks

Cold forged heatsinks are excellent thermal solutions for mass-produced high performance electronics. Enertron's engineers use cold forging to produce finned heat sinks of exceptional quality. Cold forged heatsinks are used to dissipate heat in high powered electronics, multi-chip modules, and in other similar applications.

Enertron's engineers design cold forged heat sinks based on customer requirements. Enertron can also manufacture cold forged heatsinks based on customer prints. The minimum fin thickness for the cold forged heatsink is 0.7 mm. Either Aluminum A1060 or A6061 is the commonly used material for cold forged heat sinks. Anodized or electroless nickel plating surface treatment can be applied to cold forged heatsinks.


Cold forged heatsinks commonly have a fin aspect ratio of up to 25:1 and are well-suited for high-performance electronics. The cold forged heatsink production process requires no machining, cutting, or welding, making it more cost effective than extruded or bonded-fin heat sinks when produced in high quantities. A variety of heatsink fin shapes can be produced, including pin fin heatsinks, plate fin heatsinks, air foil fin heat sinks, round fin heatsinks, and square fin heatsinks. The minimum cost-effective quantity for cold forged heatsinks is 10,000.
